Hi, I’m Tina!
I’m the Owner and Clinical Director of A Mindful Life Counseling Services. Here’s a little more about me…
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with a degree as a Master of Social Work from the University of Utah. I work with clients aged 3 and up with a wide range of concerns including trauma, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, relationship issues, attachment issues, behavior struggles, parenting problems, career challenges, obsessions/compulsions, and life changes/challenges. I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, whether that is from recent events or more chronic and complex trauma such as childhood trauma including physical/sexual abuse or emotional abuse.
I am a Registered Play Therapist – Supervisor trained and experienced in both directive and non-directive Play Therapy for a variety of mental health challenges and behaviors. I train and supervise new Play Therapists working toward certification. I am trained and certified in AutPlay for children with Autism. I work with both neurotypical and neurodivergent children. I am trained as an EMDR Child Specialist for children who have experienced trauma.

I am the current President for the Utah Association for Play Therapy with a passion for promoting Play Therapy and training new Play Therapists.
My approach during adult and couples therapy combines both talk and experiential counseling. I am trained in expressive techniques such as Sandtray therapy and Expressive Arts. I am trained and certified in EMDR treatment for trauma. I am trained and skilled in IFS, DBT, CBT, TF-CBT, CPR-T for parent and child relationships, and Motivational Interviewing.
I am a trained PACT therapist working with couples to develop and maintain secure-functioning relationships.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in the power of the relationship between therapist and client to help gain a deeper connection to Self for healing. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don’t believe in judgements or stigmatizing labels. I believe that each individual holds within them the power to change and thrive given the right information and support. I believe that most people need to be seen, heard, and understood before taking on the task of change. It would be my privilege to be that support for you. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet you, your relationship, or your child’s unique and specific needs.
It takes courage to work for a more fulfilling and happier life, to become whole and healed, and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I live in and love Southern Utah. What an amazing place to find yourself! I love being outdoors, on the water, and in nature whenever I can. I can’t imagine being anywhere else!
I look forward to working with you!
