I am a certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor with a Masters of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from New Mexico State University. My work focuses on assisting clients through a process of self discovery, through expounding on an individual’s understanding of underlying emotions, identifying values of importance used to guide decision making, and solidifying your personal purpose for motivation. My belief is that every client has the answers within themselves and my therapeutic role is to act as a guide and witness for personal change. I find the best fit with clients who feel that they are different in some way, including those facing exclusion from their local community, those experiencing lifestyle changes, challenging new or ongoing relationship dynamics, or those at a cross-road requiring big decision making. I seek to be multi-culturally aware, have had many past Latinx clients, am passionate about neurodivergent awareness for Autism and ADHD, and welcome Gay, Queer, or Transgender clients.
The majority of my experience has been in working with adults at a community mental health setting experiencing a varied array of severe mental health challenges, including substance use, but I am also open to working with children and able to work with adolescents. I frequently utilize modalities of ACT, mindfulness, Trauma Informed-CBT, and existential therapy. In my personal life, I enjoy doing child-like activities with my own 4 children, being outdoors, and am a beginner in training for triathlons.
